Nvidia Releases GeForce FX 5900

Nvidia releases the GeForce FX 5900, the company's follow up to the GeForce FX 5800.

The new GeForce includes a number of notable features to the line, among those are: -manufacturing using the 0.13 micron process -the Nvidia CineFX 2.0 engine with second-generation pixel shaders improving DirectX 9 special effects -Nvidia UltraShadow technology for accelerated rendering of lighting and shadows -Nvidia Intellisample HCT for improved anisotropic filtering and antialiasing image quality and performance -a 256-bit memory interface basically doubling memory bandwidth In addition, the GeForce FX 5900 features 128-bit color precision and supports the latest Microsoft DirectX 9.0 and OpenGL feature sets. The Nvidia GeForce FX 5900 will be available in June 2003 at an estimated MSRP of $499.
