Gamasutra has learned today that performer Lee Reherman, whose career spanned appearances in film, television and video games, recently passed away unexpectedly.

The circumstances of his passing are unclear, as the news comes courtesy of a brief public memorial published by his PR company, Turk PR.

Reherman is perhaps best known for his years in the '90s playing "Hawk" on the television show American Gladiators, though that was not the start of his professional acting career. He went on to appear in a wide variety of productions and hosted a number of reality shows, including the Forza Motorsport-inspired Forza Motorsport Showdown.

Reherman is remembered best in the video game industry for his performances in games like Firefall (where he played lead character Typhon), Dead Rising 3 and Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter.

Independent developer Christian Allen also worked on Advanced Warfighter, and has published a memorial post to Reherman over on his Gamasutra blog.
