As it aims to expand its video game business, Paramount has appointed former Kuju America head John Kavanagh to lead its games efforts, replacing Sandi Isaacs. Paramount began seeking Isaacs' replacement late last year alongside media speculation that the company wanted an industry veteran to oversee its game group's growth. Kavanagh was responsible for establishing Kuju America, the U.S. arm of the British development studio, and prior to that, was vice president of product development at Eidos. He'll now take the role of senior VP of Paramount's video game division, where he'll oversee development and licensing of the company's movie IP games. "We are very excited to have someone as experienced as John come aboard to lead our videogame group," says Paramount president Thomas Lesinski, to whom Kavanagh will now report. "John brings a diverse array of global gaming experience that will help accelerate our efforts in the development and licensing of video games."
