French game developer DONTNOD Entertainment has licensed NatrualMotion's Morpheme animation middleware for an "undisclosed upcoming triple-A title," NaturalMotion said Wednesday. Morpheme is an animation engine for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii, iPhone and PC. It's used in games such as Black Rock Studios' Pure, the upcoming BioWare MMORPG Star Wars: The Old Republic and Codemasters' Ashes Cricket series, among others. Recent Morpheme adopters include Ubisoft Montreal and Zen Studios. Paris-based DONTNOD's unannounced game is "for HD consoles," according to its website. "We look forward to supporting their new title throughout development and to seeing how they are using morpheme to further push the boundaries of believable characters," said NaturalMotion sales VP Andy Payne in a statement.
