Performance Plug-in for Photoshop on G5

Timed to match the announcement of Apple’s new PowerMac G5 computers, Adobe has announced that it will be releasing a plug-in for Photoshop 7.0 that will significantly enhance the performance of the graphics operations when run on a G5. The initial information claims the plug-in will result in Photoshop running twice as fast as compared to the program “running on any previous apple system,” but does not give details about which operations will see the improvement, nor what the performance gain will be compared to the program running without the plug-in.
