Users voted for the PSN games they liked the best, and today, Sony announced the winners in four categories -- with The Behemoth's Castle Crashers winning best PlayStation 3 downloadable game. The game, which first appeared on Microsoft's Xbox Live Arcade service in 2008, faced competition from Double Fine's Costume Quest, Hothead's DeathSpank, Namco Bandai's Pac-Man Championship Edition DX, and Ubisoft's Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: The Game. Games were nominated for awards based on their user reviews on the PlayStation Network store. Voting was conducted via download of special free themes for the PlayStation 3's XrossMediaBar interface, with the most-downloaded theme in each category declaring the winner. Ready at Dawn's God of War: The Ghost of Sparta won for Best Downloadable PSP Game, up against Game Arts' Lunar: Silver Star Harmony, Alfa System's Phantasy Star Portable 2, Atlus' Persona 3 Portable, and Sega's Valkyria Chronicles II. Halfbrick's Age of Zombies won for Best PSP/PS3 Mini, competing with Frima's A Space Shooter for 2 Bucks! and Young Thor, Mediatonic's Monsters (Probably) Stole My Princess, and David Scott's Vector TD. Finally, the Best PSN Exclusive Game is Housemarque's Dead Nation, which beat out VooFoo Studios' Hustle Kings, Hello Games' Joe Danger, Telltale Games' Sam & Max: The Devil's Playhouse, and SideQuest Studios' Soldner X-2. Voting was open from February 22 to March 1. Winners in each category are currently on sale for 30 percent off on the PlayStation Network Store, or 50 percent off for PlayStation Plus subscribers.
