PopCap Games is bringing its first titles to Nintendo's digital download library DSiWare in the form of Bookworm and Bejeweled Twist, the developer said Monday. The two games mark PopCap's entry into the DSiWare market. Bookworm for DSiWare will arrive for download later this month, while Bejeweled Twist will land in mid-October. Enhanced cartridge versions of Bookworm and Bejeweled Twist will hit retail in Q1 2010 with additional features. Bookworm launched in 2005, has already appeared on 10 different platforms, and had 100 million downloads, PopCap said. The company claimed it's the "world's most popular digital word game." The DSiWare version of Bookworm will have a dual screen-tuned Classic mode. The cartridge version will have more features than its DSiWare counterpart, such as a multiplayer battle mode and 20 all-new Collectible Books. Bejeweled Twist for DSiWare will also be a pared-down version of its DS cartridge counterpart. The digital version of the game will have the classic and multiplayer modes, while the DS cartridge version will have three additional game modes. PopCap said this is the first time Bejeweled Twist has been ported to a video game console. The game, a spin-off of the Bejeweled puzzle series, originated as a PC game in 2008.
