PS2 Price Cut Due In Japan

Sony representatives have confirmed that the PlayStation 2 console is to drop in price from ¥24,800 ($226) to ¥19,800 ($181), apparently due to declining sales.

Sony representatives have confirmed that the PlayStation 2 console is to drop in price from ¥24,800 ($226) to ¥19,800 ($181), apparently due to declining sales. This still makes the PS2 the most expensive console in Japan, after the Xbox was recently cut in price to ¥16,800 ($153) and the GameCube Enjoyment Pack (including a console and GBA Player) was launched at ¥18,800 ($171).
