This week, South Korea will establish a $144 million agency to develop and promote video games, animation, online and television content. According to a report in Hollywood trade paper Variety, several Korean cultural organizations including the Game Industry Agency, the Culture and Content Agency, and the Broadcasting Institute, combine to create this "superbody," the Creative Content Agency. Former national assembly member and public administration professor Lee Jae-woong will direct the agency in creating content and supporting local entertainment companies, the report says. Lost actress Yunjin Kim will act as ambassador to the Creative Content Agency, and will attend its opening ceremony.
