Sony Computer Entertainment America (SCEA) director of third party relations Michael Shorrock has announced that Rockstar Games will be creating a new, unnamed, franchise exclusively for the PlayStation 3. Shorrock’s comments were posted on the official U.S. PlayStation Blog, and reference a feature on Spike TV video game show Game Head, in which the game in question is confirmed not to be the forthcoming, and already announced, L.A. Noire from Team Bondi, but “something all new”. No other details of the nature or style of the game have been given, although Shorrock suggests that: “Rockstar really wanted to make a game that you can truly only do on PS3, harnessing the power of Cell and Blu-ray disc and this deal lets them do just that.” Shorrock has indicated that SCEA has agreed with Rockstar Games and owners Take-Two Interactive not to release any further information at this time, including any indication of a release date.
