Gamasutra's weekly column, "Saling The World", covers the top five sellers for every available platform in the United States, Japan, and Europe, providing an important update of sales patterns worldwide. This week's charts, with data taken from June 17th, 2010, find Super Mario Galaxy 2 and Xenoblade on top of the worldwide Wii charts, as Red Dead Redemption and Episodes from Liberty City lead on competing platforms stateside. Data for "Saling The World" comes courtesy of the public sales information on Amazon.com, Amazon.co.uk, and Amazon.co.jp, with sales split out for each platform and territory, and pre-orders disregarded. This results in a true sense of what games are selling worldwide on the real-time updated service, as follows: Nintendo Wii North America: 1. Super Mario Galaxy 2 (Nintendo), 2. New Super Mario Bros. Wii (Nintendo), 3. Just Dance (Ubisoft), 4. Wii Fit Plus with Balance Board (Nintendo), 5. Wii Sports Resort (Nintendo). Japan: 1. Xenoblade (Nintendo), 2. Super Mario Galaxy 2 (Nintendo), 3. Super Mario Galaxy 2 tops U.S. Wii software sales for the fourth week running, with New Super Mario Bros. Wii and Just Dance continuing to lead over Wii Fit Plus and Wii Sports Resort. Xenoblade continues its chart dominance in Japan, meanwhile, as Super Mario Galaxy 2 captures the top cross-platform sales spot in the UK after its recent international debut. Battlefield: Bad Company 2 steals the top Xbox 360 chart spot from Red Dead Redemption after a recent "Deal of the Day" sale at Amazon, as a price-dropped BioShock 2 returns to the domestic charts at fifth place. Bad Company 2 also competes against Red Dead Redemption and Modern Warfare 2 in this week's UK results, while Cave's arcade-ported shooter Ketsui leads sales in Japan. PlayStation 3 North America: 1. Red Dead Redemption falls to fourth place in domestic platform sales after a successful run over the past few weeks, though the title remains on top in the UK. PC North America: 1.
