Officials from Sega have announced that Sammy CEO Hajime Satomi has taken over the role of chairman of the company. Current chairman Hideki Sato will remain at the company as vice chairman with Hisao Oguchi also staying on as president. Satomi indicated shortly after his company gained a 22% majority holding in Sega that he wanted to join the board as soon as possible. Although no fresh announcement has been made on his intentions for the company he has spoken often of his desire for Sega to develop for Sammy’s low cost Atomiswave arcade systems and to concentrate less on consumer software.
