The L.A.-based IGC West independent video game trade conference said this week that it will be hosting speakers including Sanrio Digital exec Robert Ferrari (pictured), Gabe Ahn with SCEA, and consultant Clinton Keith at the November event. IGC West said that Ferrari, VP of publishing and business development at Sanrio Digital and Typhoon Games, will be delivering the keynote, "Branded Social Gaming - The Convergence of Brands, Online Games and Online Communities." Sanrio Digital is the company behind the youth-targeted free-to-play MMO Hello Kitty Online, the SanrioTown social network, and other games that include Sanrio's army cute cartoon characters. The event, held by Game Path, takes place November 5-6 at the Marina del Rey Marriott in L.A. Other notable session speakers at IGC West include: -Advanced Scrum and Agile Development by Clinton Keith, Clinton Keith Consulting -Advertising on the iPhone by Tom Hubina, Amplified Games -Capturing the New Consumer with Smart PR and Social Media Techniques by Sue Bohle, The Bohle Company -Evolution of a Control Freak by Dev Jana, Cat's Cradle Studios -Games Gone Social by Dennis Fong, Raptr -Getting onto the PlayStation Network by Gabe Ahn, SCEA -Using Micropayments, by David Marcus, Zong Game Path also organized IGC East in Boston earlier this year. The conferences are aimed at "both established and indie game developers looking into console, PC, and mobile development." IGC West will also have a demo night, Game Path said, where attendees can exhibit their games. More information can be found at the official website for IGC.
