UI middleware developer Scaleform has just shipped the latest release of its Scaleform GFx solution, version 3.0, adding performance enhancements and new tools. Scaleform GFx combines Flash rendering with Adobe Creative Suite's image, vector and video motion graphics software tool chain. New in version 3.0 are productivity tools intended to speed and optimize UI element creation: a new memory system, an analyzer for memory and performance, and CLIK component framework. The company says it's fully cross-platform and comes integrated with many game engines for UI and casual game development on PC and major consoles. "Scaleform GFx 3.0 enables development teams to fully explore all creative options and focus on making the best end user experience possible," says CEO Brendan Iribe, president and CEO of Scaleform. "Scaleform has optimized a development pipeline that enables the use of the Adobe Flash tool chain for the rigorous requirements of cross platform console and PC game development. GFx 3.0 has taken Flash UI development to a new level."
