Sony Computer Entertainment America has revealed its PlayStation.Blog, a new website adding an official and un-obscured public voice for the company for "collective insights, opinions and perspectives" direct from SCEA employees. Unlike SCEE's ThreeSpeech blog, which uses external journalists as a conduit for its "semi-official" European-centric information, and its previous viral marketing blogs which were met with some disgrace, SCEA will be providing the content itself, with room for user comments and feedback. Just what direction the site will ultimately take though, says senior PR manager Patrick Seybold in an inaugural post, is yet unclear. "At the moment we’re thinking about sharing all sorts of things here," said Seybold, "ranging from product news and title announcements to developer updates and industry opinion posts – all of which will come straight from the people here inside SCEA who are working, thinking and playing with this stuff everyday." "What we’ve learned, perhaps the hard way," he added, "is that a blog like this is really about you and the things you want to hear, share and discuss with us. With that in mind, you’ll notice that comments are enabled – and encouraged – so tell us what you want to see here and we’ll do our best to make it happen." Thus far, mobile marketing manager Andrew Adams, PlayStation Network senior manager Eric Lempel, and SCEA R&D director Klaus Hofrichter have all added posts on a range of topics from the Folding@Home project to the features in the latest PS3 firmware.
