The California state senate has passed a bill that requires retailers to display signs notifying parents of the ratings systems for video games. The bill passed the senate on a 21-14 vote and will now go to the desk of governor Arnold Schwarzenegger for his signature or veto. The bill has gone through a number of modifications from its original version, which would have required that video games tagged with an "M for Mature" rating be stocked separately from other games, on shelves at least five feet from the ground.
