Organizers Last Straw Productions have announced that the second annual Indie MMO Game Developers Conference will be taking place March 29th and 30th of 2008 in Minneapolis, for indie and hobbyist developers to discus design, development and production of indie MMOs and virtual worlds. The organizers describe the event as "an informative, educational, and fun gathering of independent game developers from around the world who want to focus on MMOG technologies and network with designers and developers as passionate as they are." Though a full session lineup has not yet been decided on, IMGDC 2008 promises "sessions ranging from game design to legal issues facing indie developers," and appearances by "industry professionals and pioneers, including Dr. Richard Bartle and Jay Moore," who will be focusing on "Industry Secrets." Said IMGDC founder and director Jonathon Stevens, "We’re focusing more on networking and connections for IMGDC 2008. It’s incredible the impact excitement and dedication can have when building entire worlds like MMOG makers do. It’s only natural that a conference for the most passionate, dedicated, and excited developers would be a hit!” For more information on the event - which is not affiliated with Game Developers Conference creator and Gamasutra owner CMP - including speaker, schedule, and registration information, visit the official IMGDC website.
