In the wake of the failed merger with Sammy, Sega officials today restated their hopes to find a partner to help boost sales in the United States, which have weighed down the company's finances.
A U.K.-based news service reported yesterday that Electronic Arts made an overture to Sega's incoming president, Hisao Oguchi, about creating a sales alliance in North America, but Sega did not confirm the existence of the proposal. If such an alliance is made, it is not clear how of the company's American subsidiary, Sega of America Inc., would factor into the equation.
