Sega reported better-than-expected pre-tax profits of 2.63 billion yen ($15.8 million) for the three months ended June 30, 2003 on sales of 42.37 billion yen ($353 million).
The company provided no comparative figures for the same quarter last year as this was the first time that Sega has reported quarterly earnings. It reaffirmed its forecast of profit of 7.5 billion yen ($62.5 million) on sales of 193 billion yen ($1.6 billion) for the year ended March 2004.
