Former Sega U.S. sales director Paige Carlson has joined developer-publisher Playlogic as its VP of sales and business development for North America. Carlson has also held similar roles at Atari and GT Interactive, and has helped lead the launches of games including Mario and Sonic At The Olympic Games and Dragonball Z and Civilization titles. She'll now report directly to Playlogic CEO Willem Smit, and focus on increasing the company's presence in the U.S. market and developing new business opportunities. The company’s key franchises have included titles such as Obscure, Simon the Sorcerer 4: Chaos Happens and Xyanide Resurrection. It's been primarily known as a PC publisher, in addition to developing first-party titles for Sony Computer Entertainment Europe, but recently attained its Xbox 360 publishing license. "We are very pleased to welcome Paige on board," says Smit. "As we are about to release the strongest line-up in the company’s history, Paige’s strong industry background will help reach a broader audience in North America."
