Just after the blockbuster launch of God of War III on PlayStation 3, Sony announced a new title in the franchise for its portable platform. God of War: Ghost of Sparta for PlayStation Portable is developed by Ready at Dawn, the studio responsible for previous God of War PSP title Chains of Olympus. Sony Santa Monica is supporting the developer. Sony Computer Entertainment America says that Ready at Dawn has made new strides developing on the PSP platform, specifically highlighting "state-of-the art visual technologies" and "a realistic feel that has never been seen before on PSP or any other portable platform." Interestingly, SCEA also promises that the game, which follows hero Kratos' rise to Olympus following the events of the first God of War, provides "over 25 percent more gameplay", presumably in comparison to its PSP predecessor. "Excitement for the God of War franchise is at an all-time high and we're thrilled to continue that momentum with God of War: Ghost of Sparta," says SCEA product marketing VP Scott Steinberg. "This new adventure will showcase Kratos on PSP like never before in an experience that fans and newcomers can enjoy on the go, anytime, anywhere."
