Sony Announces Online Sports Game Service

<a href="http://biz.yahoo.com/rc/030811/media_sony_989_1.html">Reuters is reporting</a> that Sony has announced the forthcoming 989SportsOnline.com service that will allow PS2 users to compete against each other.

The first game to launch with the service on August 28th will be NFL GameDay 2004, and the service will also offer message boards, player rankings, and voice chat.
