The Heritage Foundation's manifesto for the possible next administration could do great harm to many, including large portions of the game development community.
As Facebook and Twitter launch on Xbox 360 today, Sony confirms that native Facebook support will be coming to the PlayStation 3 as it details the console's next firmware update, 3.10.
Today's the official launch date for a variety of social networking features on Xbox 360, including integration with Facebook and Twitter -- and at the same time, Sony reveals that Facebook is coming to PlayStation 3, too. The company confirmed previous reports that Facebook integration will be part of the PS3's next firmware update, version 3.10. The update has yet to be officially dated, but PSN operations director Eric Lempel says on the official PlayStation Blog that it's coming "soon." "By linking your PlayStation Network account to your Facebook account, you will have the option for the PS3 to automatically update your Facebook News Feed with Trophy and PlayStation Store activity," says Lempel. The update will also allow developers to add game-specific Facebook compatibility to their titles, so that games can publish additional info to Facebook news feeds. Although PS3 hasn't announced the same native Twitter support Xbox Live gets today, Lempel notes that PS3's built-in web browser lets users see their friends' Facebook and Twitter updates. Firmware update 3.10 will also add a revamped photo viewing system, and a modified Friends List based on user feedback. Users can also choose the color in which their PSN ID is displayed on the Xross Media Bar.
