Amidst a background of complaints that PlayStation Portable development kits have still not been delivered to many third party developers, rumors are beginning to emerge that Sony is considering the creation of a single PSP development studio, to handle ports of older games produced by other first party teams – in an attempt to fast track the creation of viable launch titles. The PSP is currently scheduled for a Japanese release at the end of 2004, although many are beginning to question whether this can be achieved since Sony has indicated more than once that there are unlikely to be any games available for viewing at next year’s E3.
