Representatives from Sony have demonstrated a PlayStation 2 console running a video conference via a USB webcam, during a business summit in Tokyo. The IPv6 Business Summit 2004 dealt with the phasing out of the IPv4 system, which has been in use by the entire Internet since the 1980s. However the PlayStation 2 demonstration was not reliant on this new technology and was also shown to work using IPv4. If the technology is stable then it could be seen in online games and software by the end of this year. Source: gamesindustry.biz
