Sony officials have revealed that combined sales of the PS one and PS2 have broken the 3 million unit mark in the Middle East – making the region the fastest growing market place for video games in the world. The region boasts a PS2 installed user base of 300,000, which is expected to double next year. Since most games companies group the region together with Europe, for accounting and projection purposes at least, this large increase in sales has officially made Europe the single largest market for video games in the world.
