Officials from Sony have revealed hardware sales figures for the major Asian markets outside of Japan. In these areas, which include Hong Kong, Taiwan, South Korea, Thailand, Malaysia and Singapore, the PlayStation 2 console has sold between 500,000 and 600,000 units in 2003. On average the console sold around 10,000 to 15,000 units per week in 2003. These figures do not include units imported from Japan, which are thought to make up a significant percentage of the same market. Source: The Magic Box
