Sony Revenue Down on Slumping Games Division

Sony sold 2.65 million PS2 consoles this quarter compared to 4.59 million in the same quarter last year. Profits from the game division fell 31.6 percent from 2.6 billion last year to 1.8 billion yen ($15 million) this year. Total profit for the entire company dropped 98 percent from 1.1 billion yen (approximately $9 million) to 57.2 billion yen the same time last year even though total sales fell only 7 percent to $13.5 billion yen.
