Final Fantasy creator Square Enix has released results for its first financial quarter ended June 30th, with company-wide sales falling 9.3 percent to 29,770 million yen ($275.3 million), but profits up 2,883 million yen ($26.7 million) over the year prior. Profits were at 2,739 million yen ($25.3 million) at this time in 2007. The company added no commentary on top selling games or further notes on its financial situation in the translated release. By segment, Square Enix's offline games division saw sales fall dramatically from 9416 million yen ($87.1 million) to 5082 million yen ($47 million). Online game revenue also fell from 2778 million yen ($25.7 million) to 2684 million yen ($24.8 million). Looking at its other sectors, mobile sales fell from 1802 million yen ($16.7 million) in 2007 to 1605 million yen ($14.8 million), and its amusement division, including all Taito amusement centers, fell from 16,718 million yen ($154.6 million) to 13,886 million yen ($128.4 million). By region, sales in Japan fell from 29,984 million yen ($277.3 million) to 25,925 million yen ($239.8 million), as did Europe, from 2565 million yen ($23.7 million) to 2551 million yen ($23.6 million), and Asia, from 189 million yen ($1.75 million) to 136 million yen ($1.26 million), while sales in North America rose slightly from 2571 million yen ($23.8 million) to 2639 million yen ($24.4 million).
