Ghostbusters developer Terminal Reality announces a partnership with Streamline Studios for development, content creation support and education initiatives.
Ghostbusters developer Terminal Reality has unveiled the "expansive relationship" with Streamline Studios previously teased by VP Joe Kleiner in a recent Gamasutra interview. Production management house Streamline becomes "content creation partner" for Terminal Reality's Infernal Engine, the development engine the studio will launch formally next week following a licensing announcement last month. Streamline will also use Infernal Engine for its own internal projects, and make it available to its production partners. The two companies will also share marketing and promotion for upcoming games. The two companies also plan to set up "incubation programs" to help teams access and learn the technology with content creation support from Streamline. Together, they'll also partner in initiatives to extend the tech to students and aspiring developers. Infernal Engine supports development on all current platforms except for the DS -- from the PSP to the Xbox 360 to the PC and Wii. It features a particle system, a content pipeline and "advanced" physics support. Netherlands-based Streamline Studios recently announced an expansion of its operations, appointing two new business development execs to lead its endeavors in increasing co-production and forming new partnerships. "As Streamline Studios moves into more co-productions, the Infernal Engine platform flexibility will give them a upper hand in development options, as well as reduce costs," says Terminal Reality's Kreiner. "Our partnership with Terminal Reality will give us the ability to support one of the fastest growing engines on the market today and further expand our capabilities in deploying the highest quality external content creation services to the market," says Streamline president and COE Alexander Fernandez.
