Publisher THQ has announced two new products in its Destroy All Humans franchise for early 2008, with Destroy All Humans! Path of the Furon headed to the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, and Destroy All Humans! Big Willy Unleashed planned for the Wii, PSP, and PlayStation 2. Developed by newly formed internal THQ studio Sandblast Games, Path of the Furon promises "new weapons and mental abilities, high-fidelity destruction and expanded open-world gameplay," as players control Crypto in "the Funked Out 1970s" battling a mysterious new enemy that threatens the "groovy way of life" of both Crypto and his Furon race. Set shortly before Path of the Furon, Big Willy Unleashed has been designed by THQ internal studio Locomotive Games for the Wii console, which the company says will fully utilize its Wii remote to deliver an "all-new sci-fi action gaming experience." In the game, players will control Crypto as he unleashes destruction on foot, in his UFO and in his Big Willy mech, masquerading as a fast food restaurant mascot, as he travels the world of the "Funked Out 1970s." THQ and Locomotive will also be bringing ports of Big Willy Unleashed to the PlayStation 2 and PSP. Said worldwide marketing senior VP Bob Aniello, “The Destroy All Humans franchise has consistently delivered a unique combination of fun and original gameplay delivering irreverent humor and over the top destruction that has garnered worldwide critical acclaim and commercial success. The simultaneous release of two all-new Destroy All Humans titles means gamers can expect different experiences that utilize the unique technology of the leading gaming platforms.”
