Turbo Squid today announced the availability of finalRender Stage-1, a 3ds max plug-in that enables very complex effects to be rendered, even in very large (upwards of 50 million polygons) scenes. The effects available include true 3D motion blurring (maintaining the details in non-moving elements), light dispersion, and sub-surface scattering, for much greater realism of translucent materials such as skin. The plug-in also supports distributed rendering, so that these complex effects can be rendered at high speed using multiple computers. finalRender Stage-1 is available now, for an SRP of $795.
