Ubisoft is taking one of its most central franchises to Facebook. At its Digital Day event yesterday, the French publisher revealed Assassin's Creed: Project Legacy will hit the social network October 1, offering intriguing opportunities for players to develop a relationship with upcoming Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood. Players of the Facebook strategy title will be able to unlock content and bonuses in Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood, which launches November 16. The reverse is also true -- not only can players earn content or XP by playing the Facebook game, but they can also unlock some 25 additional missions in the social title by playing Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood on consoles. It's part of the company's "Companion Gaming" initiative, which aims to offer players multiple points of entry for the same property or game world. Among these initiatives is the new ability to exchange animals and unlock exclusives between the Petz World MMO and the DS version of the game, while Hamsterz Worldwide promises to offer iOS platform apps targeted at adults who can use them to contribute to their kids' gaming experience. "I want my play to matter wherever I am," digital strategy VP Chris Early told Gamasutra at the event, acknowledging that, in this early stage of implementation, Companion Gaming is "very simple, one way, direct, one time."
