Nintendo’s Wii Fit has enjoyed a new run of four weeks at the top of the individual platform charts in the UK, while also topping the all-platforms chart for the twelfth non-consecutive week. Although this week’s chart includes the traditionally busy second half of the Easter bank holiday, there are no new entries in the top ten. However, Nintendo’s family friendly titles such as Professor Layton, Mario Kart Wii and Wii Play have all moved up the chart during the period. Rockstar’s Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars also moves up one place to number ten, suggesting that the game may well show the longevity of other prominent, but mostly first party, Nintendo DS titles. There were no new entries in the rest of the top forty either, although Ubisoft’s Imagine: Doctor on the DS did make its first appearance in the charts at number 26. Other re-entries include Sega’s Football Manager 2009 (aka Worldwide Soccer Manager 2009) on PC at number 34 and EA’s FIFA 09 on PlayStation 3 at number 36. EA’s Monopoly on Wii, first released in October 2008, appears at number 37, with Animal Crossing on Wii at number 39 and LittleBigPlanet on PS3 at number 40. Overall, in the top 40 chart by individual platforms, there are 11 titles each for the Nintendo DS and Xbox 360, 10 for the Wii, seven for the PlayStation 3, one for the PC and none for the PSP. In the separate all platforms chart, which combines all SKUs of a game into a single chart position, Wii Fit remains at number one, with EA’s The Godfather II also maintaining its position at number two. EA’s FIFA 09 moves up two places to number three.
