Wii Fit has retained the number one spot in both the all platforms and individual platforms charts over the Easter bank holiday weekend in the UK. Traditionally seen as a key retail period, particularly for new hardware, this year has seen less major software releases than normal following a greater number of prominent new launches in the early part of the year. At number one in the individual platforms chart for the third consecutive week, Wii Fit has become Nintendo’s longest-serving UK number one in the all platforms chart -- surpassing Pokemon Yellow on the Game Boy. Despite lukewarm reviews, Electronic Arts' The Godfather II has also performed well, with the Xbox 360 version debuting at number two and the PlayStation 3 version at number four. Thanks to retailer promotions the fastest mover of the week is Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games on Wii, up 12 places to number three. Disney’s Club Penguin: Elite Penguin Force on Nintendo DS also moves into the top 10 for the first time, up three places to number 10. There are no other new entries in the top 40 this week, but a raft of re-entries in the lower regions of the chart. Kung Fu Panda on Xbox 360 reappears at number 31, with Mystery Case Files: MillionHeir on DS at number 33. Lego Indiana Jones on Xbox 360 is at number 34 (used alongside Kung Fu Panda in various hardware bundles), Gears of War 2 at number 38 and Guitar Hero: World Tour for Wii at number 40. Overall, in the top 40 chart by individual platforms, there are 13 titles for the Xbox 360, 11 for the Nintendo DS, nine for the Wii, seven for the PlayStation 3, and none for the PC or PSP. In the separate all platforms chart, which combines all SKUs of a game into a single chart position, the top three are identical. Wii Fit remains at number one for the second week, while The Godfather II enters at number two and Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games moves up six places to number three.
