With the World Cup now halfway through, there are a grand total of five soccer games in the UK top ten video game chart, and EA’s official 2006 FIFA World Cup tie-in has widened the gap between it and Eidos' number two placed Hitman: Blood Money, with an 18 percent increase in sales versus a 16 percent drop off respectively. With the DS Lite due for release on June 23rd, there are currently three Nintendo DS exclusive titles in the top twenty, with Brain Training (aka Brain Age) moving up two places to number four, Animal Crossing up one place to number eight, and new version Nintendogs: Dalmatian & Friends the highest new entry of the week at number twelve. With few other new releases in the UK this week, the only other new entry in the top forty is Midway’s PC strategy title Rise & Fall: Civilizations at War at number fourteen. Several older titles have re-entered the charts following retailer promotions, though, including Crazy Frog Racer at number thirty-four, OutRun 2006 at number thirty-five, Burnout Revenge at number thirty-six, The Simpsons: Hit & Run at number thirty-nine and The Incredibles at number forty.
