The king of the jungle also becomes the king of the official UK sales charts this week, as a full week's worth of the movie's presence in UK theaters gives Peter Jackson's King Kong enough of a push to take number one on the charts. Knocked down to number two has been the longer-running UK favorite, Electronic Arts' Need For Speed: Most Wanted, which remains the best-selling game in the UK over the holiday season. The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe, on the other hand, dropped a slot in the days following the movie's release, perhaps because of the game's mixed critical and word-of-mouth reception. The two biggest movers in the top ten were down at the bottom, where Activision's Gun and Ubisoft's Prince of Persia: The Two Thrones both made resurgences in the final days before Christmas.
