Vicon announced a new optical motion capture solution designed specifically for smaller production facilities and independent game developers. The solution combines Vicon's newest camera, the VCam, with the company's Vicon 6 system and Vicon iQ software, which automates the editing and processing of capture data. Using the new Vicon V6 VCam system, you can create a motion capture setup that can be run by a single operator in a 8'x10' performance capture area. Vicon iQ takes care of post-processing work for complex performance moves by analyzing the mocap data and fixing common problems like marker occlusions, then generating a file for export to your CG package of choice. Prices for Vicon V6 VCam systems start at $60,000.
