The closing day of the 2009 Game Developers Conference China will feature a performance from Video Games Live, which claims the title of world's largest video game music orchestra. The orchestral concert series features video, synchronized lighting effects and interactive segments onstage in a showcase of video game themes. It was developed by music producers Tommy Tallarico and Jack Wall beginning in 2005, and although it has seen some 300,000 attendees over its lifetime, this will be its first showing in mainland China. "Together with GDC China, VGL aims to create an event that caters to the interests of the local Shanghai audience and strengthen Chinese support for the culture and art of video games in China,", says GDC China event director Meggan Scavio. Presented by Think Services (also parent of Gamasutra), GDC China makes its return to the Shanghai Convention Center October 11-13 of this year. Attendees who buy a GDC China VIP pass before September 19 will receive a free ticket to the Video Games Live performance.
