Nintendo has announced that this week's regular Wii Shop update will see the addition of three new classic games to the channel's offerings for Virtual Console. In keeping with most other releases during the Christmas gifting season, the games are of a lower profile than previous months, with the most well-known being Super Nintendo Title Donkey Kong Country 3. The third in a series of Donkey Kong platformers for the SNES, Donkey Kong 3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble features the ponytailed monkey Dixie teaming up with a giant infant ape, Kiddy Kong, in a quest to rescue Donkey and Diddy, the heroes of the previous installments, from the evil Kremlings. The game is priced at 800 Wii Points. Also among the releases is hockey title Blades of Steel, released first on arcade in 1987 and a year later on NES, priced at 500 Wii Points. Finally, Genesis space shooter Rolling Thunder 2 joins the lineup, priced at 800 Wii Points.
