Vivox will integrate its voice technology into Unreal Engine 3 through Epic Games' Integrated Parters Program, the companies announced today, enabling developers licensing UE3 to use the voice service. Vivox says its tech is currently being used by companies including CCP Games, NCsoft and Sony Online Entertainment, and through this new partner deal, Vivox voice services become part of the native Unreal Engine toolset for PC and PlayStation 3. Devs also get full integration support from Vivox's teams, the company says. "Working with top partners like Vivox and integrating their technologies into Unreal Engine 3 further provides our licensees with the best development tools available," says Epic president Michael Capps. Through its Integrated Partners Program, Epic's allowed many technologies to join UE3, including Audiokinetic's Wwise and Autodesk's Kynapse and HumanIK, to name just a few recent examples. "Epic’s Unreal Engine 3 powers many of the best known games on the market," says Vivox CEO Rob Seaver. "We’re pleased to contribute to their commitment to innovation, and we’re proud to be part of the high-quality solution they offer."
