WB Games Seattle VP Laura Fryer is joining Zynga founder Mark Pincus as a keynote speaker at this year's International Game Developers Association Leadership Forum in November.
The fourth annual International Game Developers Association Leadership Forum has announced the addition of keynote speaker Laura Fryer, Vice President and General Manager of WB Games Seattle as part of the event to be held from Thursday, November 4 to Friday, November 5th in San Francisco's Airport Marriott. Laura will join Zynga founder Mark Pincus, also tapped for a keynote at the event, which saw over 300 delegates from more than 10 countries when it was held in 2009. Fryer was also one of the first members of Microsoft Game Studios, and was responsible for shipping key titles such as Gears of War and Gears of War 2 as producer. She is currently leading WB's Seattle multi-studio development operation (Lord of the Rings: War in the North.). The IGDA Leadership event planned for this year will highlight three tracks: Personal, Project, and Tools. The forum aims to engage producers, team leader, project managers and studio directors in the development industry and provide a space in which they can share knowledge about the art of game development. From November 2nd and 3rd, the forum will also feature a Scrum Certification course by Clinton Keith, which was completed last year by over 20 attendees. Completing the course earns participants the official title of Certified Scrummaster via the Scrum Alliance.
