Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment is distributing a game based on the 2009 Terminator Salvation film starring Christian Bale, currently under development by Stockholm, Sweden-based GRIN, which is also working on WBIE's Wanted. About a year ago, Terminator rights-holders The Halcyon Company formed a game division with an eye toward publishing a Terminator Salvation game. According to the company, the game is based on the upcoming film, and places the player into the role of John Connor -- the Christian Bale role in the movie. No release platforms have yet been specified. The game will be a third-person action title in which the player, as Connor, battles the enemies sent by sentient computer system Skynet to destroy the human race -- including both enemies from the film and new enemies designed specifically for the game. According to online reports, GRIN's Stockholm, Sweden studio, also working on Bionic Commando, is one of its chief development locations, while Wanted is being developed in its Barcelona, Spain studio, and the company also has locations in Jakarta, Indonesia and Gothenburg, Sweden. "Building on the incredibly strong franchise, Terminator Salvation -- The Videogame will be a cinematic gaming experience that complements the upcoming film," said John Quinn, WBIE's executive vice president of worldwide operations. "Working with Halcyon and Equity Games, we will expand on the Terminator universe on next generation consoles with action packed gameplay and detailed environments." Warner Bros. Interactive is distributing the game for publisher Equity Game Productions AG and co-publisher Evolved Games.
