Develolper Wideload has announced that Cyclomite, the first title of its new casual division Wideload Shorts, will debut on GarageGames' "web console" InstantAction for its launch in January of 2008. Wideload says the Cyclomite is a fast-paced action title which sees players piloting the titular Cyclomite through meteor storms catching individual meteor storms in an effort to save the universe. The developer says the game will feature two multiplayer modes with both versus and cooperative play over hundreds of levels. Wideload president Tom Kang explained in August that games in its Shorts division will be created by a small core team, "but will have creative and technical input from all areas of Wideload," with the company expecting the games will "appeal to players who desire easy-to-play games that can be played on the go or in smaller time increments." First announced in September, GarageGames says InstantAction will offer graphically rich, networked games playable through a web browser with no download installation. Said GarageGames CEO Josh Williams, “For InstantAction to succeed, we need to have the top indie developers participating. So we are stoked to have Wideload bring us an original title. We haven’t stopped there. We expect other top developers to announce their support Instant Action in the coming months.”
