The Heritage Foundation's manifesto for the possible next administration could do great harm to many, including large portions of the game development community.
Tool provider Xaitment says it will release a new version of its graphical modeling AI game tool XaitControl -- adding a graphical live-live debugger -- during the 2010 Game Developers Conference
Tool provider Xaitment says it will release a new version of its graphical modeling AI game tool XaitControl during the 2010 Game Developers Conference that begins March 9 in San Francisco. The XaitControl tool is purpose-built for designing and executing data driven, hierarchical, probabilistic finite state machines that can be used to control character movements and behaviors. Because the state machines are probabilistic, they allow game characters to respond in unique and unpredictable ways. XaitControl 3.0 will add a graphical live-live debugger for creating and modeling the hierarchical finite state machines. It's not only intended for AI development, but also for implementing game logic, controlling animation and more, the company says. "One of the most important aspects of a game or simulation is the artificial intelligence hidden within the programming," says Xaitment CEO Andreas Gerber. "At this year’s GDC 2010, we want to bring AI into the foreground of game development," Gerber adds. "That’s why we’re excited to present our AI game tools including xaitControl 3.0, with an innovative new debugger that allows you to do live debugging of the state machines in your game. AI designers and game designers will experience a new way to model their game."
