Microsoft has announced that this Wednesday's regular Xbox Live Arcade update will see a port of the Bitmap Bros' Amiga classic Speedball 2, as well as two new additions from Q Entertainment -- Every Extend Extra Extreme and new Lumines Live content. First announced in March, Microsoft says Every Extend Extra Extreme will feature "100 times more enemies and chain reactions" than the PSP update to the freeware original. The game will also offer "five distinct game modes including Main mode, VS mode, Time Attack Mode, a genuine shooting mode, and the 'Wiz Ur Muzik mode,' where players can use their own music for gameplay. Q Entertainment's Lumines Live will also see a permanent discount to 800 Microsoft Points ($10), and its previous Heavenly Star and Breeze content discounted as a free download from October 17th to November 14th. The game will also be getting a new 'Rockin' Holiday Pack' download for 400 Points ($5). Finally, publisher Empire will be releasing its previously announced port of Amiga classic Speedball 2 to the service. First released on the Amiga in 1990, Speedball II is described by Bitmap Brothers as a "unique blend of extreme violence and stunning gameplay" as players train their team, work through leagues and literally beat other players to win championships. Says the developers, it's an ideal game "for lovers of serious ultra-violence." Empire promises the Xbox Live Arcade version will be a "perfect conversion" the original, with optional high definition 3D graphics, more teams, new downloadable content, and, of course, multiplayer over Xbox Live. Both Speedball 2 and Every Extend Extra Extreme will be priced at 800 Points ($10).
