Microsoft officials have finally confirmed weeks of rumors by announcing that the Xbox will drop in price by $30 to $149.99 in the US, from March 30. Although similar drops have also been announced in Canada and Mexico there is no word on whether the cut will be extended to the rest of the world. At the same time the company announced a range of software price cuts with Project Gotham Racing 2, Crimson Skies: High Road to Revenge and Counter-Strike retailing for $29.99 and Voodoo Vince, Grabbed by the Ghoulies and Xbox Music Mixer dropping to $19.99. A new budget range named Platinum Family Hits was also revealed, which will include child friendly titles such as Finding Nemo and Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets for $19.99. Source: VE3D
