In a widely expected announcement Microsoft officials have confirmed that the Xbox console will drop in price to just $179.99 from September 17th. The price change relates to a new bundle which will include the console, a free Xbox Live trial and copies of Tetris Worlds Live and Star Wars: The Clone Wars. Although neither game is particularly well regarded the low cost of the bundle is likely to see greatly increased sales for the Xbox over the Christmas period. At this point there has been no confirmation that these price drops will be emulated in other territories.
