Ex-Microsoft senior executive Michel Cassius, who was previously senior director of platform and marketing EMEA at Xbox, has joined casual gaming publisher FUN Technologies, which encompasses casual websites such as SkillJam, WorldWinner and Octopi. He will take on the role of managing director EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) and will be responsible for expanding the company’s business in all European markets and platforms, as well as building a local team, growing the company’s distribution network and building strategic relationships with local portals and network providers. “I am excited to be joining FUN Technologies at this particular time,” said Cassisu in UK trade paper MCV. “The casual gaming market is already developing strongly and is set to grow significantly on all platforms in the years to come. FUN has fantastic experience and a proven business that I am looking forward to building on and developing in Europe.” FUN Technologies splits its content into FUN Skill and FUN Fantasy, the former specialising in casual PC/Internet browser games over the Internet, wireless, interactive television and stand alone kiosks. The FUN Fantasy division deals with sports fantasy content, primarily in the U.S., and owns the Fanball brand.
