Analysts are suggesting that the Xbox is likely to overtake the PlayStation 2 in terms of units sales this April, in the wake of the console’s recent price drop. American Technology Research analyst P.J. McNealy estimates Xbox sales of 275,000 units against around 200,000 units for the PlayStation 2. This would be the first time the Xbox has ever overtaken the PlayStation 2 in sales in the US, although the feat is unlikely to be repeated for two consecutive months, once the price cut’s novelty fades. The news has though renewed calls for Sony to drop the price of the PlayStation 2 in the US, with some now expecting an announcement on or near E3 next month. Source: Reuters
